SPOKANE, Wash. — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced this week that it will donate a truckload of food to Second Harvest Inland Northwest.
The church says the donation aims to aid food banks as they continue to serve families facing rising demand and economic pressures.
“Shelf-stable food (such as canned or dried) is getting more and more challenging to obtain,” said Eric Williams of Second Harvest. “And many of the partner food banks and pantries we supply have limited cold storage. That means this donation from the Church is timely, thoughtful and very generous.”…
