LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. – A man in crisis was detained on Saturday evening after officers with the Liberty Lake Police Department and Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a disturbance.
Officers were dispatched around 4:28 p.m. to an apartment on East Mission Avenue after callers reported that a man was screaming and throwing objects, including a sword, from his balcony.
Upon arrival, officers surrounded the area and attempted to communicate with the man, who expressed pain and the desire for help. Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in safely detaining the man to prevent self-harm or harm to others. He was taken for medical and mental health evaluation…
