COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The Coeur d’Alene Police Department (CDAPD) says it discovered six pounds of electronic blasting caps near the 1000 block of East Lakeside Avenue around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday.
CDAPD says demolition crews were working at the property when they found a safe in the basement containing the explosives. The items were taken to the police department for proper disposal, according to a press release.
Police say they secured the blasting caps in the lobby of the police department and evacuated people to a safe distance.
