Spokane police chief issues apology on behalf of officers who wore face coverings at Spokane protest

SPOKANE, Wash. — On Monday, Spokane Police Chief Kevin Hall apologized on behalf of police officers who wore face coverings during a protest in downtown Spokane that was held to honor the life of Alex Pretti, a Minneapolis man killed by immigration enforcement officers.

“Last Wednesday, a mistake was made at a public demonstration where we had plain clothes officers in the demonstration wearing masks,” said Chief Hall at a Spokane City Council Committee meeting.
