SPOKANE, Wash. — The office in charge of holding police accountable in Spokane faced a complaint alleging a conflict of interest. The City of Spokane Ethics Commission unanimously dismissed that complaint at a special meeting Wednesday.
The Spokane Valley resident Evan Sims filed the complaint twice over the past couple of years.
Sims initially accused the Spokane Ombudsman Bart Logue of failing to investigate what Sims referred to as “a biased police report” in 2024, involving an assault against him. Sims says he faced discrimination from the police and from Logue due to his developmental disability. That complaint was dismissed in 2025…
