Washington Ecology orders Spokane County, city to come up with plan to provide clean drinking water to PFAS-contaminated area of West Plains

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — On a cloudy and rainy day, John Hancock’s home north of Airway Heights is a quiet spot with a beautiful view of the creek below. But his property’s also brought some heartaches when it comes to PFAS, also known as forever chemicals.

“The first test I had was clean. So there were neighbors with trouble, but not me, so I didn’t feel like a problem that I had to worry about,” Hancock said.
