Spokane Police investigating body pulled from river in University District

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department is investigating after a body was recovered from the Spokane River Monday.

Officer Daniel Strassenberg says callers reported seeing the body in the water near 600 E. Front Avenue in the city’s University District. SPD and the fire department responded and pulled a man’s body from the water around 1 p.m.

The man’s identity is expected to be released by the county medical examiner. A cause and manner of death will also be determined by the medical examiner…
