SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane County Medical Examiner has identified a man shot by Spokane Police Wednesday during the investigation of a North Spokane homicide. The medical examiner identifies him as 47-year-old Richard Sheppard.
The Spokane Independent Investigative Response (SIIR) Team, headed by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, is now investigating the police shooting.
SPD and the sheriff’s office say Sheppard was a suspect in a stabbing at the Apple Tree Inn. SPD responded to the 1800 block of W.
