Proposed transportation budgets keep Spokane’s North-South Freeway on track

OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington State House of Representatives approved the 2026 supplemental transportation budget, emphasizing ongoing projects such as Spokane’s North/South Freeway.

The LEAP transportation document included with PSHB 2306 shows $1.3 billion proposed for the continued construction of the corridor through 2031 along with millions towards the Liberty Park Land Bridge project.

“This supplemental budget stays focused on finishing the work already in motion,” said Rep Mike Volz (R-Spokane) said. “For communities like Spokane, that means continued progress on the North/South Freeway – a project that has been years in the making and is critical to mobility, commerce, and public safety in our region.”…
