Red Cross data shows Northwest region volunteer base spreads across generations

SPOKANE, Wash. — Red Cross Month in March is a nationwide celebration honoring the people who offer support when help can’t wait. This year, the Red Cross recognizes a trend of multigenerational volunteers specifically in the Northwest region, according to new data.

“Generation after generation, our community has shown that compassion is one of its greatest strengths,” says Megan Dulgar, Executive Director of the Red Cross Northwest region.

People of all ages volunteer for the Red Cross. According to new data, Gen Z is the fastest growing group of volunteers coming in at 33%, Millennials account for roughly 26%, followed by Baby Boomers (23%) and Gen X (8%). The Silent Generation takes up the last 2%…
