SPOKANE, Wash. — Federal agents say they have made the largest drug seizure in the history of the Eastern District of Washington after confiscating nearly 370 pounds of illicit substances in a series of searches across the Tri-Cities area on Tuesday.
The Drug Enforcement Administration said it executed federal search warrants at multiple locations as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation into Amador Sanchez and several co-conspirators. Investigators said Sanchez used multiple residences — including at least one residence in each of the Tri-Cities — to facilitate and conceal illegal activity.
According to the DEA, agents seized more than 200 pounds of methamphetamine, more than 164 pounds of powdered fentanyl and more than 5 pounds of cocaine. Agents also seized about $2 million in U.S. currency and 16 firearms. Authorities said the amounts are preliminary estimates…
