On March 7, 2026, Spokane Valley and Spokane County Deputies arrested 33-year-old Anthony A. Smith near a bus stop at E. Sprague Avenue and Park Road after reports that he was pointing a firearm at passing cars. Deputies observed Smith walking into traffic and raising what appeared to be a handgun toward a vehicle. He complied with commands and was taken into custody without incident.
