Spokane Public Schools representatives emphasized their commitment to student safety. The district incorporates personal safety, touching safety, and assertiveness into the annual curriculum for kindergarten through 3rd grade students. This curriculum aims to teach students how to identify signs of sexual abuse, enabling them to say no and inform an adult if needed. Parents have the option to opt-out of this child-protection curriculum.
