Over 2.1 Million Miles Erased: Othello Man Gets Prison Time for Vehicle Fraud Scheme

SPOKANE — An Othello man has been sentenced to 15 months in federal prison and one year of supervised release for his role in an odometer tampering scheme that defrauded vehicle buyers across Eastern Washington.

According to documents filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington, Reynaldo Valdez Garza Jr. was found guilty on five counts of odometer tampering following a three-day jury trial held from September 29, 2025, to October 1, 2025.
