Pirates post strong marks at spring break meets

TACOMA, Wash. – Competing with a partial squad across two states to cap off spring break week, the Whitworth track and field teams still posted strong performances on Saturday.

The Pirate women won four individual events at the Peyton-Shotwell Invitational hosted by Puget Sound.

Amblessed Okemgbo was a double-winner, taking first place in both the shot put (43′-7.25″) and the discus throw (152′-5″). Devin Chelin won the women’s javelin (129′-9″). Claire Nardella cleared 10′-4″ to finish third in the pole vault…
