Spokane County, City of Spokane public libraries to accept food drive donations in April

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane County Library District (SCLD) announced Tuesday that it is participating in the annual spring food drive, “Bites and Books – Turning the Page on Hunger.”

Every public library in Spokane County and the City of Spokane is collecting nonperishable food, such as canned or boxed food that doesn’t need to be refrigerated until it is opened. Donations of peanut butter and cereal are also always appreciated. SCLD says as food donations are collected, Second Harvest and other food banks will distribute food to communities in the county.

Donations will also be accepted at the Spokane Zephyr FC soccer match at One Spokane Stadium on April 26…
