Spokane Valley man jailed on hate crime and harassment charges

Spokane Valley, Wash. — Deputies arrested a Spokane Valley man on felony charges after neighbors reported threats, ethnic slurs and pounding on their apartment wall and window, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said in a release.

At about 12:15 a.m. on April 2, investigators said residents of an apartment complex near E. Main Avenue and N. Pines Road reported the 55-year-old man woke them while yelling profanity and hateful remarks tied to their ethnicity. They also told deputies he pounded on a shared wall and later struck their window hard enough that they feared it would break.
