SPOKANE, Wash. — The project to build a new school on the site of Adams Elementary has hit a new milestone – demolition of the old school is almost done.
While the building itself is gone, Spokane Public Schools said parts of the foundation still need to be removed before the demolition is complete. The district plans to break ground on the new school in a few weeks to a month.
Crews have been working to demolish Adams Elementary since February, and students have been relocated to the old Jefferson Elementary building since December. The new school will be 20,000 square feet larger than the old one, with the bus loop and green spaces positioned away from busier streets…
