Love Local: Inland Northwest farmers markets open soon

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spring is well underway, and summer is fast approaching. Many warm-weather activities are starting to return, including farmers’ markets. Several of which will open very soon in the Inland Northwest.

Farmers markets typically aim to bring together local farmers, food producers and artisans to sell regional and local goods to the community. Oftentimes, there is live music and entertainment.

The Kootenai County farmers markets are celebrating their 40th season this year. The farmers market in Hayden opens tomorrow, May 2, and the one in Coeur d’Alene will open on Wednesday, May 6. Opening days for both of these markets will feature live music and a free balloon artist for kids…
