Conroe’s animal shelter reaches no-kill milestone after city officials took over management

A year and a half after the city of Conroe took over operation of the city’s animal shelter, Police Chief Jon Buckholtz said the euthanasia rate has dropped so low that it is now a no-kill facility.

Buckholtz presented an update on the shelter to the Conroe City Council during its regular meeting Thursday.
