Ebola not a concern for Houston World Cup, health officials say

HOUSTON (CW39) – As Houston prepares to welcome visitors from around the world for the World Cup, health officials say there is no need to worry about Ebola and emphasize the city is well-prepared.

Fifteen individuals in the Houston and Harris County region are currently being monitored out of caution. All are asymptomatic and considered extremely low risk.

Health leaders say the far more likely concern this summer is heat-related illness—not infectious disease.
