DPS encourages safe driving as 3 law enforcement officers have been killed

TYLER, Texas (KETK)– Three Texas first responders died after being hit by vehicles, prompting the DPS to renew urgency for the ‘Move Over, Slow Down’ law.

Two first responders were killed last weekend while directing traffic. They are a fire marshal and a police officer, Charlie Woodard in Mabank and 24-year-old deputy, Erika Serrato in Montgomery County.
