Turf at TDECU Stadium will be ready for Houston’s opener after damage during Easter service

FRISCO — Repairs to the playing surface at the University of Houston’s TDECU Stadium will be completed in time for the upcoming football season but more extensive work will be required, athletic director Eddie Nuñez said.

Nuñez said work is underway to repair the damage to the stadium’s surface caused by an Easter service hosted by Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church. The initial repairs are expected to be completed by early August, making the stadium available for the start of preseason camp.
