Houston’s typical mid-July heat is taking a back seat to a growing flood threat at the start of the week.
Daily showers and thunderstorms will remain the norm across Southeast Texas, as deep tropical moisture lingers over the region. The wetter pattern will hold afternoon temperatures a few degrees below where they’ve been recently, but it also brings the potential for locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding through the middle of the week.

Monday brings another active day of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms across Southeast Texas as tropical moisture combines with several upper-level disturbances moving across the region.
Don’t expect rain all day. Instead, there could be long stretches of dry weather interrupted by slow-moving thunderstorms capable of producing torrential downpours, frequent lightning and gusty winds.
