Flood Watch Extended for Houston, Katy, Cypress, and The Woodlands in Southeast Texas as Heavy Overnight Thunderstorms Raise Flash Flooding Risk Into Friday

HOUSTON — A Flood Watch has been extended through 7 p.m. Friday for most of the Houston metro and southeast Texas as heavy rain continues overnight. A slow-moving frontal boundary near the Gulf Coast is interacting with deeply saturated air fed by Pacific and Gulf moisture. On and off thunderstorms carrying heavy rain are expected to continue through tonight and possibly into early Friday morning. Localized flooding and flash flooding are possible across the region.
