BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – After hurricane hunter aircraft found tropical storm strength winds, Chris gets a name just ahead of landfall in Central Mexico. Chris is the third named storm of a young 2024 Atlantic hurricane season. Chris will weaken gradually overnight and dump heavy rain over portions of Mexico, but high pressure and a westward steering wind over the southern US will keep most of, if not all the moisture from Chris away from the state of Texas.
