Houston police are awaiting autopsy results following the death of a 78-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman after a house fire at 127 Rebecca Street in the Northside/Northline area early Saturday morning, December 28, 2024.
Houston Fire Department personnel responded to the fire at approximately 5:25 a.m. Firefighters discovered the two individuals unresponsive inside the residence and transported them to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
HPD homicide detectives investigated the scene and reported no initial signs of foul play. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will determine the identities and causes of death through autopsy results. The Houston Fire Department Arson Bureau will investigate the cause of the fire.
