Third man arrested in Deputy Omar Ursin’s off-duty death, months after warrant issued

A third man apprehended in the suspected road rage death of an off-duty constable’s deputy in 2022 has been brought to Houston, more than three months after a warrant was issued for his arrest , Harris County jail records show.

Douglas Wooten, 22, was brought to Houston this week from Minnesota, where he was arrested by authorities in December, officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.

A witness to the Aug. 28, 2022, shooting death of Precinct 3 constable’s Deputy Omar Ursin told authorities Wooten wielded the weapon as two others were in a car. The passengers, Ahsim Taylor Jr. and Kayland Womack, are also charged with murder and jailed in connection to Ursin’s death…
