The trial of Xavier Davis came to a halt Monday when he pleaded guilty to capital murder charges just as opening statements were set to begin.
The 2021 case has stretched on for more than three years since police rushed to investigate a late-night shooting at a southwest Houston apartment that left a couple and their 6-year-old daughter dead. Davis was quickly linked to the shooting and arrested the next day.
