Parents alarmed as nurse caught replacing kids’ prescriptions, district says

HOUSTON — A Klein Independent School District nurse has been terminated after being accused of swapping prescription medication with over-the-counter drugs for students at Kuehnle Elementary School. The disturbing discovery has left a mother concerned for the safety of her children, who did not receive their prescribed ADHD medication.

Courtney Griffin, the mother of 10-year-old twin boys, said she was shocked when she learned that the medication in her sons’ pill bottles had been replaced with allergy medicine and Aleve. According to Griffin, the pills looked similar at first glance.
