If you want to find where most Houston homebuyers are moving, look to the suburbs and along a few key highways.
The 10 best-selling residential market areas in the region last year were located outside the city’s dense Inner Loop, according to new data from the Houston Association of Realtors. A mix of good schools, relative affordability, scenic surroundings and expanded highways continue to draw homebuyers to the city’s outer edges, especially to the west and north.
The expansion of the Grand Parkway in west Houston has fueled a boom in master-planned communities, helping to propel parts of Cypress, Katy and Fort Bend County into the region’s top-selling areas.
