HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — A Houston police officer shot a man suspected of stealing a car following a chase in south Houston late Wednesday night.
The situation happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when HPD officers attempted a traffic stop of someone in an alleged stolen SUV in the 2800 block of Reed Road near Highway 288. The vehicle continued on, starting a chase.
The SUV stopped at a nearby apartment complex at the 7800 block of Tierwester Street, where the driver got out of the vehicle and ran into the complex, HPD assistant chief Adrian Rodriguez said.
