Deadly fight between coworkers started at Conroe restaurant, court records allege

A man accused of shooting and killing his coworker and roommate Sunday night told investigators that an argument started at the restaurant where they worked and turned into a physical fight when they got home, according to Montgomery County court documents.

Jose Martinez, 49, charged with murder in the shooting death of co-worker Juan Vite-Hernandez, was arrested at the Joe’s Italian Restaurant Sunday, according to court records obtained by the Chronicle. Martinez remained in the Montgomery County Jail Wednesday on $250,000 bail.
