HOUSTON — Thousands are expected to be out on the waterways this holiday weekend and Houston police want everyone to stay safe.
The Houston Police Department told KHOU 11’s Deevon Rahming that Memorial Day weekend is the busiest weekend of the year on lakes. They said they’ll be out making sure boaters have the proper equipment on board and cracking down on impaired boaters.
HPD said they want boaters to make sure their boats are operating correctly, especially since it’ll likely be the first time this year many boats have been out on the water. They also want boaters to have the proper safety equipment on board, including life vests for children under 13 as required by state law…
