Two NOLA prison escapees located in Texas on Memorial Day

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Two escaped inmates from a New Orleans jail were captured in Huntsville, Texas on Monday. According to the Louisiana Attorney General, Leo Tate was incarcerated on burglary and weapons charges, while Jermaine Donald was imprisoned on a second-degree murder charge, as well as aggravated battery.

According to the US Marshals Office, the two escaped inmates were arrested on Highway 190 and Geneva Road. Texas Department of Public Safety said they were apprehended after a chase in Walker County.

Donald and Tate were among ten who had escaped from the jail. This now means that eight of the ten inmates who escaped have been recaptured.
