Man Charged with Intoxication Manslaughter After Fatal Crash on West Lake Houston Parkway

A horrific turn of events in the Humble area on a typically placid last Sunday evening ended in a tragedy, as a man now faces charges following a fatal crash. According to City of Houston News, the crash occurred at 1700 West Lake Houston Parkway around 5:45 p.m. The suspect, identified as 40-year-old John Nathan Dool, has been charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.

The victims of the crash were Curtis Van Diest, age 60, and Catherine Van Diest, age 66. Investigations revealed, that a white Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by Dool was speeding westbound when it collided with a white Cadillac XT5, which was pulling out from a stop sign.
