Houston man charged with murder in fatal stabbing of 77-year-old cyclist on East End bike trail

A Houston man was arrested and charged with murder Wednesday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 77-year-old man riding his bike to work last week.

Aaron Bartholomew Sheehan, 40, is accused of stabbing Anival Elvir Ortiz on a bike trail just before 6 a.m. on Thursday in the 100 block of North Drennan Street, off of Canal Street, police said. Houston police on Friday released video surveillance of Sheehan near a Metro line and said he was believed to be linked to the fatal stabbing.
