A citywide test of Houston’s Wireless Emergency Alert system will take place early Sept. 5.
The city’s Office of Emergency Management will send out a test message at 11 a.m. Sept. 5 to mobile devices within the city of Houston and potentially others near Houston. The test is a part of a public safety alert system, according to a news release from the city of Houston.
