Nine arrested in connection with July’s League City HEB store robbery

LEAGUE CITY — League City police have arrested nine people in connection with a July aggravated robbery at a jewelry store inside an H-E-B and a series of similar crimes in the Houston area.

Detectives with the League City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, working with the Houston Police Department’s Criminal Apprehension Team, took eight suspects into custody Aug. 28 during coordinated operations across Houston. A ninth suspect was arrested Sept. 3, police said Friday.

Those arrested include:

  • Tommie Coleman, 20, of Houston — aggravated robbery ($1 million bond); engaging in organized criminal activity ($1 million bond)
  • Jerell Davis, 33, of Houston — engaging in organized criminal activity ($1 million bond)
  • Shannon Evans, 46, of Houston — engaging in organized criminal activity ($1 million bond)
  • Laquincya Johnson, 20, of Houston — engaging in organized criminal activity ($1 million bond)
  • Monica Thompson, 34, of Houston — engaging in organized criminal activity ($1 million bond)
  • Patricia Thompson, 65, of Houston — engaging in organized criminal activity ($1 million bond)
  • Valencia Thompson, 51, of Houston — engaging in organized criminal activity ($1 million bond)
  • Vanessa Thompson, 24, of Houston — aggravated robbery (no bond); engaging in organized criminal activity (no bond)
  • Aron Wilson, 33, of Houston — engaging in organized criminal activity ($1 million bond)

The July 28 robbery occurred at Sunny’s Jewelry and Watch Repair, located inside the H-E-B at 2955 South Gulf Freeway…
