HOUSTON — The University of Houston started its fall semester by breaking records.
UH’s total enrollment is at an all-time high of 48,972 students for fall 2025, up from 47,980 students the same time last year. The surge is driven by the large number of first-time college students among the 6,715 freshmen — also a UH record — and more than 4,500 transfers.
Applications also reached historic highs with more than 48,000 freshman applications, up 12% from last year, and more than 75,000 total applications across undergraduate and graduate programs, according to a news release.
