Career drug runner sentenced to 50 years for endangering officer during high-speed pursuit in Texas

CONROE, Texas — A 46-year-old man from Irving, Texas, was sentenced to 50 years in prison after being found guilty of endangering a law enforcement officer during a high-speed chase.

Shawn Gollihugh was convicted on charges of aggravated assault of a public servant and evading arrest with a vehicle, according to a press release from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

The trial, presided over by Judge Patty Maginnis, revealed that on June 28, 2023, Gollihugh traveled to New Caney, Texas, to purchase 12 kilograms of cocaine from an undercover officer. When law enforcement attempted to arrest him, Gollihugh fled, striking two police vehicles and injuring an officer.
