HOUSTON — The city of Houston’s housing department has proposed a new “superhub” facility near Shell Energy Stadium to serve as a one-stop center for people experiencing homelessness.
Unlike traditional shelters, the proposed ‘low-barrier facility’ would have no program requirements, no pet restrictions, and no limits on entry hours. Residents would not be turned away due to mental health or substance-use issues.
