Houston — Chambers County Sheriff || Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports that on October 24, 2025, the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, in a joint investigation with the DEA Galveston Resident Office, Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, Galveston Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Houston Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations, seized over 400 kilograms (880 pounds) of methamphetamine at a residence in Houston.
Sheriff Hawthorne stated, “This is a huge victory against the Mexican Drug Cartels and their local minions in our efforts to eliminate dangerous drug trafficking in our communities and an excellent collaboration between agencies.
