HOUSTON — A 38-year-old man with outstanding warrants led law enforcement on a chase that stretched from Galveston to Houston on Thursday, reaching speeds over 100 mph before his vehicle ran out of gas, according to Galveston police.
Jasmere Washington was wanted on warrants for theft and probation violation when a Galveston police officer attempted to pull him over around noon, said Kurt Koopman, public information officer for the Galveston Police Department.
Washington fled in a maroon Mitsubishi, prompting the pursuit. Once he crossed the Causeway leaving Galveston, police ended their chase and the Texas Department of Public Safety took over as the lead law enforcement agency…
