MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – One man is dead and a second is critically injured following an exchange of gunfire that began when an armed ex-boyfriend broke into an apartment on Monday night, November 10, 2025.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputies responded to a shooting call in the 2100 block of Sawdust Road in The Woodlands, TX, around 10:00 p.m.
- Deputies located one male deceased inside an apartment due to a single gunshot wound.
- A second injured male was found nearby. He was transported to a local hospital for a gunshot wound and is in critical, but stable, condition.
Investigation Details
The subsequent investigation revealed the incident was isolated and related to a domestic dispute:
- The deceased man was the former boyfriend of a female witness at the scene.
- The injured man is currently in a relationship with the same female.
- Investigators determined that the deceased man had been sending threatening text messages to both the witness and her new boyfriend prior to the escalation.
- The situation turned violent when the deceased man broke into the female’s apartment armed with a pistol and a shotgun, resulting in an exchange of gunfire with the surviving male.
MCSO Major Crimes Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene. Authorities confirmed there is no threat to the public.
