Prairie View A&M students team up with local nonprofit to fight period insecurity

HOUSTON — Female students from Prairie View A&M University partnered with local nonprofit Spot Me to provide hygiene essentials to young girls and women in need.

The team put together dozens of care bags filled with products to help address period insecurity in the Houston area.

Spot Me is run by local pharmacist Dr. Tanaya Kizzine, known as “Dr. K,” who was inspired after meeting a young girl at her church who urgently needed a period product but had none. That encounter sparked her mission to ensure no girl or woman goes without basic menstrual supplies…
