ICE Houston Crackdown, 3,500 Arrested Including Murderers, Child Predators, and Gang Members

ICE Houston conducted a major law enforcement operation during the federal government shutdown, arresting over 3,500 individuals with criminal convictions or charges across Southeast Texas, including murderers, child predators, gang members, and repeat offenders. The arrests, which took place from October 1 to November 12, involved 13 accused of murder, 51 child predators, 67 sex offenders, and numerous convictions for DWIs, assaults, drug offenses, human trafficking, and weapons crimes, according to the U.S. Immigration And Customs Enforcement.

Among those arrested were MS-13 member Brayan Josue Pineda-Ayala, linked to a Dallas triple homicide after being released into the U.S. in May 2024, and convicted rapist Froilan Mejia Olveram, who had previously avoided detention because of immigration guidelines.
