‘Terrified’ | Close call for workers when tornado destroys small building in Klein area

KLEIN, Texas — It was a scary afternoon for a lot of people northwest of Houston, where at least one tornado touched down on Monday.

Pine trees in the Klein area “snapped like toothpicks,” according to Emergency Services District 11. Two employees there had a close call when the powerful winds demolished the small maintenance building they were in.

“You can definitely see a very clear line of where the tornado came through, which was shocking to us because it happened so quickly as the gentlemen that were working in that building attests, they said it was a, they heard the warning, they heard silence, and then they heard what sounded like a lot of rain, torrential rain all at once, and then silence again, and then things started being ripped off the building itself,” ESD 11 spokesperson Miranda Sevcik told KHOU 11…
