Even though Houston is a hotbed of severe weather, arguably no one had Monday’s tornado on their bingo card. When residents like Bobette Ellis in Spring started getting notified to take cover, they had only seconds to hunker down.
While no serious injuries were reported, Ellis told Chron, the morning after the storm remains a surreal experience, but the damage it left behind serves as a powerful (and traumatic) reminder for her and her children.
“It was just terrifying, I just don’t even remember what was happening because it was just so fast,” she explained. “Going outside now, though, even is like a reminder that this really happened.”…
