THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KIAH) — A 12-year-old girl in The Woodlands was trapped under sand with only her head exposed.
Officials said the girl was digging a large hole in a sand bar on the West Bank of Panther Creek when it collapsed on top of her.
Her father was able to clear enough sand that she could breathe until first responders arrived. Crews from The Woodlands Fire Department and others quickly to shore up the area and then carefully cleared away the sand to pull the girl out from the sand.
Authorities said the child didn’t need to go to the hospital and is doing just fine…
